⚠️ IMPORTANT: Avoid Social Media Scams

Ill-intentioned individuals are pretending to be AIR BELGIUM on social networks, claiming to be able to help with questions relating to bookings and refunds. Unfortunately, these are fraudulent practices.

We advise you never to share your personal and banking details by private message or to email addresses that are not from Air Belgium even if they look like it.

Your refund requests are not processed on social networks, but only via email addresses whose certified domain is ‘@airbelgium.com’ and whose details can be found on our website.

The Judicial Reorganisation Procedure (JRP) ended on 19 September 2024. What are the next steps?

The Judicial Reorganisation Procedure (JRP) by collective agreement was officially closed on 19 September 2024. This procedure aimed to allow the company to reorganise under a plan that required creditor approval.

The reorganisation plan proposed by Air Belgium, which included the repayment of claims, was contingent on securing new investors and have the plan approved by the Court. An offer was received shortly before the hearing of 4 September 2024 but did not meet the requirements of this plan and it was therefore not possible to proceed with the vote. The Brabant Wallon Business Court closed the judicial reorganisation procedure (JRP), as the stay period ended on 19 September 2024.

In the meantime, a new procedure was initiated, called a Transfer of Undertakings under Judicial Authority.

Air Belgium is granted a new stay, effective from 19 September 2024. This new procedure allows the company to seek one or more investors for the acquisition and transfer its activities, while continuing its operations and preserving jobs.

Following this latest update, people awaiting a refund will be contacted by email.

If you have booked your tickets through a travel agency or tour operator, please contact your booking agent directly. Air Belgium is unable to intervene in bookings that have not been made on its website.
