Much to its regret, Air Belgium is no longer able to operate its passenger flights as from 3 October 2023.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and are doing our utmost to keep all our passengers informed.

Will Air Belgium reimburse my flight, how long will it take and what is the procedure?

A Judicial Reorganisation Procedure (PRJ) was approved on Monday 25 September 2023 for a period of 4 months. Air Belgium is committed to reimbursing the flights cancelled. 

The procedure to follow depends on whether your ticket was purchased directly on the Air Belgium website or via an agent.

1. If you booked your tickets directly with Air Belgium

Please send your ticket refund request to the following address: [email protected]. Please provide us with your full contact details: first name, last name and booking reference (6 alphanumeric characters).

  • If you have paid by credit card directly on our website, the refund will be processed using the same card.
  • If you have used a different method of payment (Bancontact, bank transfer or other), please provide us with your full bank details (IBAN, RIB, BIC)..

You will receive a confirmation email indicating the estimated date on which the refund will be issued (within two months from the end of the judicial reorganisation procedure). The refund will be processed using the same method of payment you chose at the time of booking.

As part of the current procedure, our team will process requests in chronological order, according to the earliest flight dates, and will contact you as soon as possible.

2. If you booked your tickets through a travel agent or tour operator

We kindly ask you to get in contact with your booking agent directly.

I booked a ticket and my flights (outward and return) were scheduled after 3 October 2023.

All flights scheduled from 3 October 2023 are cancelled. Unfortunately, it is no longer possible to request a flight cancellation or change. We sincerely apologise for this situation.

I flew out before 3 October and my return flight was scheduled after 3 October.

Air Belgium is unable to organise your return flight.

  • If you booked your ticket directly with Air Belgium: you can request a refund free of charge for any unused portion of your Air Belgium ticket.
  • If you booked an Air Belgium ticket that included travel to/from one of the interline destinations we served in collaboration with a partner airline (AirLink, FlyCemair or Air Mauritius): Air Belgium will refund your unused tickets, including the portion operated by one of these partner airlines.

2. If you booked your tickets through a travel agent or tour operator

I'm already at my destination, I left before 18 September and my return flight was scheduled after 3 October 2023.

Air Belgium makes every effort to reroute passengers via other partner airlines, subject to availability.

If you are affected by this situation, our Customer Service will contact you directly and individually by email as soon as possible and will process requests in chronological order, according to the earliest flight dates.

If you booked an Air Belgium ticket that included a trip to/from one of the interline destinations we served, in collaboration with a partner airline (AirLink, FlyCemair or Air Mauritius), Air Belgium will take care of your rerouting to your final destination, including the portion operated by one of these partner airlines.

If the rerouting option we offer does not meet your requirements, you can also request cancellation and reimbursement of the unused portion of your Air Belgium ticket free of charge, and organise your own return flight.

Nothing changes for you. Flights scheduled until 03 October 2023 have been operated as planned.
