Since 3 October 2023, Air Belgium has discontinued its scheduled passenger flight services.
You will find further information about these flights below.
⚠️ IMPORTANT: Avoid Social Media Scams
Ill-intentioned individuals are pretending to be AIR BELGIUM on social networks, claiming to be able to help with questions relating to bookings and refunds. Unfortunately, these are fraudulent practices.
We advise you never to share your personal and banking details by private message or to email addresses that are not from Air Belgium even if they look like it.
Your refund requests are not processed on social networks, but only via email addresses whose certified domain is ‘@airbelgium.com’ and whose details can be found on our website.
An extension of the current procedure (JRP) was granted on 3 May 2024. Will Air Belgium reimburse my flight, within what timeframe and following what procedure?
A Judicial Reorganisation Procedure (JRP) was opened on 25 September 2023 to allow the company to reorganise and reach agreements with its creditors. Under Belgian law, a JRP can be extended for a maximum of 12 months.
In April 2024, Air Belgium had to submit a new request to extend the Judicial Reorganisation Procedure (JRP).
On 3 May 2024, the extension was granted until 20 August 2024. Air Belgium regrets having to request this extension. However, this request indicates that the company is on the right track to complete its judicial reorganisation, ensure the reimbursement of its passengers as well as its long-term viability and development. This also means that the deadline for refunds for tickets and services not covered for flights scheduled after 18 September 2023 has been extended until the end of the procedure.
The JRP procedure is therefore continuing and Air Belgium still aims to issue refunds to all its passengers by the end of the procedure. Refunds for tickets purchased by credit card have already been made or are currently being processed.
The situation differs depending on whether your ticket was purchased directly on the Air Belgium website or via an agent. We therefore invite you to read the following information.
1. If you booked your tickets directly with Air Belgium
Refunds for tickets purchased by credit card have already been made or are currently being processed.
If you have not yet received a refund or if you have received a partial refund for your tickets and/or any additional services. Refunds for unused tickets and services booked using other payment methods than a credit card are still due from the end of the procedure (JRP).
Refunds will be made using the payment method used at the time of booking. Our team will contact you personally by e-mail once the procedure has been completed to inform you of the date of your refund. Requests will be processed in chronological order according to the original flight dates.
2. If you have booked your tickets through a travel agent or tour operator
If you have booked your tickets through a travel agency or tour operator, please contact your booking agent directly. Air Belgium is unable to intervene in bookings that have not been made on its website.
