Two new generation Airbus A330-900neo are joining the two current A340-300 in Air Belgium’s fleet. These new aircraft are offering even greater flight experiences with the latest technologies on board and better environmental performances, and on the freighter activity, two B747-8F will be added to the fleet in the coming months.

Main activities and responsibilities…

Within the assigned ATA 100 chapters, provide support to the Technical Management to:

  • Assess ADs, applicability, compliance, inform, prepare required engineering orders, task cards and material, encode in MIS. Keep control of the AD Binders.
  • Analyse Service Information (SBs, SLs, SIB, etc…) and advise on pertinence and incorporation planning. Upon embodiment decision, prepare required engineering orders, task cards and material, encode in MIS.
  • Investigate possible aircraft modifications, propose solutions and upon embodiment decision, prepare required engineering orders, task cards and material, encode in MIS. Update Aircraft Modification status and keep control of the Aircraft  Modifications Binders.
  • Review of pre-existing modification/STC data in order to ensure that aircraft documentation is amended accordingly.
  • Perform Technical Investigations after Occurrence Report involving aircraft technical defect or maintenance element.
  • Conduct reliability analyses and follow-up of issues identified through the Reliability Process. 
  • Provide technical support to the Technical Management in order to produce aircraft introduction files iaw BCAA requirements, and to compile re-delivery bible for aircraft returned to the lessors.
  • Engineering representative during checks and shop visits (sporadically).

And additionally for the domain "Systems":

  • Maintain LDG records binders.

And additionally for the domain "Powerplant":

  • Analyse and control of Engine Condition Trend Monitoring and monthly reporting of ECTM including EGTM/TGTM.
  • Monthly forecast of engine removal plan based on ECTM, LLP and TSN/TSPR.
  • Ensure correct tracking of LLP in accordance with approved method of calculation.
  • Maintain engines and APU records binders.
  • Follow-up of spare engine.
  • Monitor engine status towards lease requirements and re-delivery conditions.

And additionally for the domain "Avionics":

  • Manage embarked software (FLS/LSAP) status and upgrades.
  • Manage aircraft data communications setup including Flight Data Monitoring (FDM) data feed.
  • Maintain Field Loadable Software cards.
  • Monitor requirements to support operational approvals as RVSM, LVO, ETOPS, etc.

And additionally for the domain "Structure":

  • Update of aircraft Damages Lists and Charts.
  • Maintain Damage binders. 
  • Control of aircraft painting requirements and approvals.

And additionally for the domain "Cabin":

  • Update of EEL and LOPA lists and drawings.
  • Maintain Cabin, Emergency Equipment and Burn Certification binders.
  • Liaise with service providers to ensure optimal IFE and related customer services.   
Financial Responsibilities
  • Responsible to respect the decision making processes and overseeing business operations for the best interest of the business.
Quality Management Responsibilities
  • Identify and report any deficiency in order to enable appropriate corrective action.
  • Follow the applicable procedure and suggest improvements when necessary to improve the quality.
  • Constantly look for ways to increase service quality.

Performance Management Responsibilities
  • Ensure that all within your powers is done to achieve the company key performance indicators.
Realising Operational Targets
  • Assist to improve and maintain dispatch reliability of the Air Belgium aircraft fleet.
  • By exception, to work during weekend or at night when this is required to deliver the on-time availability of the aircraft.
  • Support and participate in all technical related projects as assigned.

Education Requirements and qualifications
  • Bachelor or Master in Engineering or similar due to experience.
  • At least one year experience in an aviation / aeronautical environment. 
  • Previous experience in a CAMO environment is an asset. 
  • Good knowledge and understanding of aircraft maintenance techniques.
  • Previous experience in a Boeing engineering environment is an asset (note additional for powerplant: familiar with RR (ideally Trent) engines).
  • Good command of the English, and French language (written and spoken). Dutch is an asset.
  • Ability to synthetize complex technical texts into schematics and résumés.
  • Ability to make analyses, pro-actively propose areas of improvement.
  • Team player with good communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills, rigorous, precise, well organized to keep overview on projects, set priorities.
  • Able to maintain a professional office environment with due regard to confidentiality and security of aircraft data.
  • Computer literate with good administration skills, familiar with MS office and e-mail system.
