Founded in 2016 with headquarters in Mont-Saint-Guibert, Belgium, Air Belgium now focuses exclusively on cargo operations out of Belgian airports carried out on its own behalf and on behalf of third-party customers via ACMI and charter. Currently operating a fleet of 2 Boeing 747-8 aircraft primarily serving routes to China and destinations worldwide, Air Belgium is poised for growth with plans to expand its fleet in 2027, further reinforcing the CMA CGM Group’s position as a leading player in global air freight.

Your Role:

As a Material Controller you will be the backbone of Air Belgium’s aircraft parts operations, ensuring the right parts are in the right place at the right time, protecting the company’s interests across procurement, inventory, logistics, and supplier relationships.

What are you going to do?

Provisioning & Inventory

  • Coordinate material supply with contracted pool and maintenance providers
  • Prioritise cost-effective sourcing for urgent AOG and Critical A orders
  • Monitor parts loans and consignment stock to minimise rental costs
  • Manage inventory counts and liaise with finance on related invoicing
  • Maintain and position Fly Away Kits across the network

Warranty & Compliance

  • Ensure warranty cases are processed efficiently by maintenance and pool providers
  • Record standard differences between delivered and returned parts
  • Approve or reject requests to upgrade pool parts standards
  • Verify and contest abnormal wear and tear charges where appropriate

Procurement & Projects

  • Evaluate material proposals from brokers and uncontracted providers
  • Coordinate materials for Base Maintenance checks, including prep and shipment
  • Manage the sale of surplus materials to maximise company value
  • Source specialised materials for ad hoc projects as required

Logistics, Quality & Finance

  • Optimise the cost-vs-service balance in material transport
  • Resolve discrepancies with suppliers and partners to maintain smooth operations
  • Identify deficiencies and drive corrective actions to improve quality
  • Monitor KPIs including fleet dispatch reliability and supplier performance
  • Maintain accurate financial records including invoices and receipts

What are we looking for?

  • Secondary school qualification, technical orientation preferred
  • Background in aviation is essential
  • EASA Part 145 environment experience is a plus
  • Component acceptance experience is an advantage
  • Fluent English (written and spoken); French or Dutch is a plus
  • Strong organisational skills with a structured, detail-oriented approach
  • Confident working independently and making decisions under pressure
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong teamwork ethic and collaborative mindset
  • Proficient in MS Office; comfortable in a professional office environment
  • Willing and able to work in shifts
