Purpose of the position
- Control of the aircraft spare parts provisioning by the contracted pool provider and contracted maintenance organisation.
- Control Air Belgium owned inventory of acquired spare parts, material and equipment.
- Protect Air Belgium best interest in aircraft material provisioning and storage.
Main activities and responsibilities
Material Provisioning & Inventory Management
- Ensure smooth coordination of material provisioning with contracted providers, adhering to agreed procedures.
- Oversee the supply of critical parts, prioritising cost-effectiveness for urgent orders like AOG and Critical A.
- Minimise rental costs by closely monitoring parts loans and consignment stock.
- Supervise stock levels of aircraft parts and tools; manage inventory counts and liaise with finance on related invoicing.
- Define, maintain, and monitor Fly Away Kits to ensure they are strategically located and properly stocked.
Warranty & Standards Compliance
- Ensure warranty cases are processed efficiently by Contracted Maintenance and Pool Providers.
- Keep detailed records of standard differences between delivered and returned parts to support commercial negotiations.
- Review and approve or reject requests to upgrade Pool Parts standards, ensuring they align with operational needs.
- Verify additional costs for abnormal wear and tear, approving or contesting charges as appropriate.
Procurement & Special Projects
- Assess material proposals from brokers and uncontracted providers to ensure value for the company.
- Coordinate with the Maintenance Planner to procure materials for Base Maintenance checks, overseeing preparation and shipment.
- Organise and manage the sale of surplus materials to maximize company benefit.
- Procure specialised materials for projects as needed.
Logistics & Coordination
- Optimise the balance between cost and service in material transport logistics.
- Address and resolve any discrepancies or issues with involved parties, ensuring smooth operations.
Quality & Operational Performance
- Identify and report deficiencies, facilitating corrective actions to enhance overall quality.
- Consistently seek ways to improve service delivery and operational efficiency.
- Monitor and support the achievement of departmental KPIs, including fleet dispatch reliability, by evaluating supplier performance in terms of cost, quality, and service levels.
Financial Responsibilities
- Ensure all financial documentation, including invoices and receipts, is accurately maintained and easily accessible.

Requirements and qualifications
- Secondary School (or equivalent) with technical orientation.
- Strong interest in aviation.
- Fluent technical and conversational English both written and spoken, conversational French and Dutch.
- Experience in EASA Part145 environment, and components acceptance is an asset.
- Pronounced sense of responsibility and organisation
- To maintain a professional office environment with due regard to confidentiality and security of aircraft data
- Strong computer literacy, good administration skills, familiar with MS office and e-mail system
- Willing to work in shifts
- Ability to work with detailed information in a structured fashion
- Good organisational skills, rigorous, precise, well organized to keep overview on projects, set priorities
- Ability to work independently, sense of urgency, take/prepare decisions
