Two new generation Airbus A330-900neo are joining Air Belgium’s fleet. These new aircraft are offering even greater flight experiences with the latest technologies on board and better environmental performances.  

Purpose of the position...

  • Control of the aircraft maintenance planning in liaison with the contracted maintenance providers and flight operations to ensure that all maintenance on aircraft is performed without disruption of the flight schedule.

Main activities and responsibilities…

  • To ensure that all maintenance tasks are carried out in accordance with the applicable approved Aircraft Maintenance Schedule.
  • To plan Line Maintenance tasks (including out of phase, fleet campaigns, engineering orders, Airworthiness Directives / Service Bulletins etc…) in order to ensure that all maintenance is carried out on time and in the latest revision of the approved maintenance program.
  • To create an executable work package considering applicable maintenance standards (MH, repair times,…) for each aircraft containing the scheduled maintenance tasks from the maintenance information system, defect rectification tasks (deferred defects), trouble shooting advise and any other requirement to ensure that each rotation is efficiently performed.
  • To optimize the scope of each work package, for an optimum use between minimum downtimes, resources and commercial demands.
  • To control out of phase and modification tasks need to be included in base maintenance checks in order to assure accomplishment on time.
  • To coordinate with the Materials Controller the availability of the required parts by the MRO, at the correct location, in a timely manner.
  • To plan and monitor the aircraft interior and exterior cleaning program in order to keep the aircraft to a high professional image standard.
  • Prepare bridging checks content for aircraft phase in and/or out.
  • To develop and maintain dedicated yearly planning overview for aircraft, engines, gears, APU or any other campaign needing particular attention, as assigned.
  • Liaison with the Operations Department and MRO for slot planning of maintenance packs. To report timely, accurate and concise maintenance / modification planning highlights to all stakeholders internally and externally to make sure they all have the relevant information to achieve their objectives. To make planned maintenance inputs visible in the company computer systems.
  • In cooperation with the Materials Controller, trigger and monitor the ordering and provisioning of modification kits necessary for maintenance checks. Ensure the delivery thereof with the required technical documents/certificates Keep the inventory up to date of the Air Belgium peculiar parts/mod kits stored in the MRO provider facilities.
  • To control & accept maintenance checks work packs, and thereafter verify the performance of the planned tasks.
  • To request and monitor the variations to maintenance period and other concessions needed to satisfy fleet management requirements. In turn, to monitor such variations in order to ensure rectification is performed before the established limit.
  • Support the technical team on projects (aircraft phase in, others…) as assigned.
  • Act per company procedures, and suggest improvements to these procedures as appropriate.
Financial Responsibilities
  • Responsible to keep all documentation that supports the figures, such as invoices and receipts.
Quality Management Responsibilities
  • Identify and report any deficiency in order to enable appropriate corrective action.
  • Follow the applicable procedure and suggest improvements when necessary to improve the quality.
  • Constantly look for ways to increase service quality.
Performance Management Resposibilities
  • Ensure that all within your powers is done to achieve the company key performance indicators.
Realising Operational Targets
  • Monitor actual performance in terms of cost, quality and service level of all relevant maintenance service suppliers and, where necessary report any deficiency in order to take corrective actions to ensure the realisation of the operational targets.
  • Assist to improve and maintain departmental KPI's and dispatch reliability of the Air Belgium aircraft fleet.
Projects
  • Support and participate in technical related projects as assigned.

Requirements and qualifications
  • Bachelor in aviation or similar by experience in this environment.
  • Three years experience in an aviation maintenance or CAMO environment.
  • Previous experience on Boeing and or Airbus family aircraft is an asset.
  • Experience in planning and organization of aircraft maintenance.
  • Good knowledge of aircraft inspection techniques.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of maintenance programs & maintenance contracts.
  • Fluent technical and conversational English, and French both written and spoken Dutch is an asset.
  • Pronounced sense of responsibility and organisation.
  • Knowledge of aviation technical terminology.
  • To maintain a professional office environment with due regard to confidentiality and security of aircraft data.
  • Strong computer literacy and good administration skills, familiar with MS office and e-mail system.
  • Ability to work with detailed information in a structured fashion.
  • Good organizational skills, rigorous, precise, well organized to keep overview on projects, set priorities.
  • Ability to work independently, sense of urgency, take/prepare decisions.
  • Strong team work background.
  • Excellent communication skills.
